Are you interested in having technology and phones out during homeroom?  Our PTA is challenging each homeroom to a Hy-Vee receipts show-down!

If your parent shops at Hy Vee, just ask for the receipt, bring it to school and give it to your homeroom teacher.  The competition will run from November 9 – January 15th.  The top three classes will get to have phones and technology out during a homeroom.

We are also collecting Box Tops for Education.  Take a look at the items your parents are using and cut off the box-tops, bring them in and our school gets credit.

The challenge is on!

Cheer on those Harding Chargers!

The 7th grade boys basketball team closed out their season Thursday with an exciting triple header against Taft!

In the C game Harding was led by the hustle of BJ Henry as he led the team in scoring and steals. Ayden Lutz led the team in rebounds and Victor Sagastume and Jackson Wilson played strong defense.

In the B game the Chargers and Tigers went back and forth until Taft pulled away in the final quarter winning 21-17. Jayse Conteras and Mace McWilliams led the scoring with 4 points each. Kade Popenhagen, Braden Paynter, Brandon Beaver, and Franklin Wills also added to the scoring while Franklin led the team in rebounding.

In the A game, Harding closed out a strong season by upsetting the previously undefeated Tigers, winning 45-37 in Overtime. Trailing by five points at the end of the third quarter, the Chargers continued to battle back and outscored Taft 15-2 in the last quarter to force overtime and win the game. Grant Mather scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the team. Trevor Scott played his best game of the year.  His lock down defense all night on Taft’s best player helped seal the win and Trevor finished with 13 points for himself. Micah Schlaak added 10 points and 6 critical steals while Griffin Gerdes had 4 points.

Coaches Knake and Dierks want to thank the players for their positive attitude and effort that they exhibited the entire season. Also, they remind any player who still has their uniform to return it as soon as possible.
